Yeah! Less than a week...

Yeah! It all seems to be coming together. After 2 years of planning (and saving) we leave a week from Sunday. Todd and I will both actually be able to enjoy the places on our loose itinerary. We have been in Paris for 6 months, which has been awesome, but not a place I want to call home. I am just not a high fashion, big city no trees kind of gal. I will definitly miss the food. The option of foie gras or duck confit at every meal has left me very spoiled in that regard. Oh, I cannot forget the cheese. For this cheese head, it has been my personal heaven. But as I said, on this trip we both will be jobless and able to truly experience the places we visit.

I don’t even remember how we chose Zanzibar as our starting point, but through research (on our newly purchased Dell…no more internet cafes with French keyboards!) I have determined that white sand beaches with crystal blue water and fairly cheap accomodations will be a grand place to settle in to the world of travels and relaxation. I do hope this prediction becomes a truth.

So, less then a week to go…now, I should actually be thinking of packing and logistics but that just isn’t my idea of a good time right now. So I am off to find motivation for that and enjoy one of my last weekends in Paris. Tour du France on Sunday! Very excited to see all the bikers.

I'm pretty sure we decided on Zanzibar as a starting point because it was cheaper to fly to than heading straight to Lilongwe.  We looked at going from Nairobi and going from Dar Es Salaam, and then found out we could go straight to the beach and that sounded like a great way to start out the trip.  Dear Spice Islands,   I will see you in 6 days.  Prepare yourself appropriately. Todd.
