Start of something great.
This is the beginning. We are starting our trip. Officially. We are 10 days away now and I really can't stand the waiting anymore. Work has lost a lot of it's appeal when there are beaches to be sat on, rivers to be canoed, and excessive amounts of laziness to indulge in. Productivity seems a far cry from the place I'm going. So i still need to stay in the present, but am having some difficulty with it. Oh well.
Here's our tentative schedule, August 3rd, we'll be leaving from Paris, arriving in Zanzibar. We're planning about a week there, then heading overland through Tanzania to Lilongwe, where we'll be joining the folks. After some fun activities in Malawi, we'll be passing on to Livingstone, Zambia. This is the map of the overland portion of the trip. We will be starting this on Sept. 21st, ending on October 11th. Click here for a link to the details of the trip.
When we get to Cape Town, we've arranged through WWOOF to work on a biodynamic (read: ultra-organic) farm with an attached inn/guesthouse. The lady sounds pretty cool, so we're excited about that. We're also planning on taking motorcycle lessons while we're in the area.
Then we're heading back to the states. Idaho for Christmas with the family, Santa Fe for a wedding, Missoula for some partying, the Kansas City to wait for the weather to warm up. When the weather is sufficiently warm, we'll hop on our newly purchased bikes and start heading south. The plan is to make it to Argentina. We might make it, we might not. But it'll be fun trying at least.
