Omega Ecolodge has it's grips on me...
So we've moved on from Miami, thankfully. Tela really wasn't much better, as Erin elucidated. We moved straight on to the Omega Ecolodge, which is right outside of La Ceiba. We were contemplating going to Roatan or Utila, but the infestation of sandflies supposedly continues there with the painful delivery of hell's fury to our great green earth, so we opted instead with the jungle.
Remarkably, it's fairly bug free. Some bugs, sure, but nothing crazy. I did see a 4 foot coral snake crossing my path, but couldn't think of any old wives' tales about crossing my heart or touching iron or throwing salt over my shoulder, so I didn't do anything in particular aside from screaming like a little girl. Don't worry, there was no lost pride because no one else was around to hear. I can continue to hold my head high.

This morning we went on a walk up the river, going up, over, around and under boulders of amazing size. They were beautiful, echoing the yearly floods that come through, the smooth washed rocks and small

spits of sand smattered occasionaly in the rushing river, master and creator of the intricate designs.
We continue to hang out at this little oasis, spending our afternoons reading, playing guitar, trying our hands at cards, and just generally biding our time in a pleasant way.
And Cecilia, after 6 years of asking repeatedly, I have finally finished a song for you. It's is both epic and personal, moving yet touching, soothing yet inciting. I can't write it on a postcard, so you may have to wait awhile to hear it. Unless you come and visit, in which case I can then, of course, play it for you live and in person.
