A day in the life...
I tend to write long blogs, my apologies. This one, short and sweet, hopefully. Bogota is turning out to be quit the fabulous city minus the smog. Clean streets, well preserved buildings, and I even got to see a military band parade. I am apparently a sucker for parades. I loved it! A big surrey for a changing of the guards. We were just walking about and viola, marching band. Good timing!
We went to the Gold Museum today. But first, we witnessed a guinea pig thing.

I wouldn't say race b/c the little buddy didn't not move fast. Basically, we and the rest of the crowd placed money on separate bowls. Hoping, that the fury buddy would pick your bowl. Well, we lost. The scene was anticlimactic, but who cares. You don't see that s**t back home.
The museum was very well done.

There are people, the Zenus, that created an intricate farming system based on irrigation and flood patterns. I know, nerding out, but it was one of the most impressive farming systems that worked within the constraints of given environment that I have ever seen. I was jaw down digging the whole thing. And all the gold. Who said diamonds were a girls best friend? The indigenous ladies were on to something with all their wonderful gold ornamentation. Wonderful stuff!

Now, I sit back at Destino Nomad Hostel, sipping a vodka and oj (we seem to continue with the big city indulgence) listening to Todd jam out on a full size guitar. Later, a bbq to appease the appetite and probably more vodka and oj aka orange soda drink. True orange juice does not exist south of the border with less then 15g of sugar. We do what we can. Life is not rough, so all is well here in Bogota.
